Whether you're working with tiny shirt buttons or oversized statement pieces, this handy foot holds them securely in place while your machine does the stitching for you!
How to Use:
Mark Your Spot Begin by marking exactly where you want the button placed on your fabric.
Attach the Foot Snap on the Sew-on Button Foot to your machine.
Lower the Feed Dogs This prevents the fabric from moving while you sew.
Position the Button Slide the button between the black metal grip and the foot. Make sure the two holes are aligned with the cut-out section of the presser foot.
Prep for Stitching Place your fabric under the foot. Select the button sew-on stitch or a zigzag stitch. Confirm that the feed dogs are still lowered.
Set the Stitch Width Adjust the stitch width to match the distance between the buttonholes. Slowly turn the handwheel by hand to ensure the needle enters the left hole cleanly.
Start Sewing Sew the button in place. If you're using a button sew-on stitch, your machine will automatically tie off the threads. If you're using a zigzag stitch, sew back and forth across the holes about five times.

To Add a Thread Shank:
Push the small plastic spacer on the foot forward so it rests between the buttonholes.
Sew the button in place as usual.
When finished, slide the plastic spacer back and remove the button.
Wrap sewing thread tightly around the stitching underneath the button to create a sturdy shank, then knot securely.
This technique gives your button a little "lift," making it easier to fasten on layers or bulky fabrics!
