Schmetz Chrome Microtex Needles

Schmetz Chrome Professional Grade needles are designed for sewists, quilters, and embroidery enthusiasts who are sewing faster and more intensely than ever! These chrome-plated needles are beneficial in resisting heat and wear by staying cooler longer, avoiding stitch distortion, and ultimately producing less friction and resistance. Schmetz 130/705 H-M Microtex (Sharp) Chrome Needles feature a slim acute point that makes this needle excellent for piercing fine or densely woven fabrics, microfiber materials, and synthetic leather. It was designed for modern microfibers/polyesters and high thread count/ high-quality fabrics that are commonly used today. The point is quite sharp – hence the name – but because of this, it is a little more fragile and needs to be changed more regularly, but it produces a lovely straight stitch. The Microtex/Sharp Needle is a great needle for piecing high thread count fabrics like batiks, silks, and microfibers. It is also used to create stunning topstitching and perfectly straight stitches for quilt piecing. These needles can be used in household sewing machine brands where needles with a flat shank are required.

Most Schmetz Needles include two color-coded bands just below the shank. The top color indicates the type of needle, and the lower color indicates the size.
