Fagoting, often referred to as bridging, is a technique in which two pieces of fabric are joined by a stitch. The selected stitch resembles an overcast stitch. The needle will catch the fabric on the right and then swing back to catch the fabric on the left, connecting the two pieces of fabric. The spacer on the plate keeps the fabric pieces separated as they raech the presser foot and then the needle. This type of technique is often seen in heirloom garments, table linens, and hand towels. Most suitable for this technique are medium weight fabrics such as linen, linen blends, cotton, and medium weight silk. Narrow 2.5mm.
